Freee’s All Star Bash Volume 1

Freee’s All-Star Bash happened this past Sunday, it was an event I was anticipating for while. I’ve seen shots of Team Freee’s and their wild-looking drift cars, but I never had the chance to see them in person. There were a lot of other crews on the roster that I was also looking forward to watching on the track, LOWBRAIN being one of them. On the way to Fuji Speedway, I happened to run into Shun and his beautiful s14 on the Tomei.  I’ve seen his car numerous times at shows and late night meets, but seeing it rolling on the expressway was a bit surreal knowing many people would die to catch a glimpse of his car rolling.  He followed along for a bit as we headed towards Nakai Parking Area where I was meeting up with Rod (AUTOnGRAPHIC), Park (HighTopFade) and Teru.

I don’t get very many opportunities to roll with the whole crew together since we carpool most of the time due to the expensive expressway tolls.  A 35-mile drive on the Tomei costs approximately ¥1,900 ($20USD) one-way, which is barely a stretch on the lengthy expressway, also considering that I have the shortest drive compared to all the other people that were heading to Fuji Speedway.  My friend Stephen who was visiting from Hawaii was able to snap a couple shots on our way to Fuji.

The All-Star Bash included a car meet/show and drifting on the Fuji Drift Course which went on throughout the entire day.  USDM style was a huge theme at the car show, but there were also a great assortment of VIP, drift, and tuner cars.

UJOS Society made a huge turnout.  They love USDM and Hawaii-style, and I definitely love the quality and work they put into their Hondas. It’s always a treat to see their EF sedans and shuttles all lined up together.

Team Freee’s had a great lineup of cars.  Seeing all of them sliding around the track was an amazing sight.

I’m looking forward to Volume 2 of Freee’s All-Star Bash, it was definitely a great event with a lot of potential to become even bigger. Thanks to Team Freee’s for putting together such a great event. There’s lots of coverage to come in the near future.  Stay tuned for more.
