Kansai in Transit

This past Friday I decided to venture out on a journey with a couple friends from Kanagawa Prefecture all the way to Hyogo Prefecture in Kansai Region to make it to the Hellaflush car show happening the next morning. We started heading out around 10PM Friday night and drove into the morning to arrive at Central Circuit raceway around 8AM on Saturday. Along the way, we ran into a couple other people heading towards the same route. Around 1AM we stopped over at a rest stop along the new Shin-Tomei Expressway to alternate drivers and grab some food and drinks when we ran into a familiar car:

It was a good taste of what was to come. Along the 400ish mile drive while passing through a couple rest stops it felt like we went through a couple mini car shows. Definitely a sight to see compared to what I’m used to seeing back in the states. The drive back from the show Saturday night was the same experience. VIP cars, K-cars, drift cars, and grip/track cars all over the expressways. Here’s a couple shots from the drive. More coverage in a couple hours.
